Gaviota Coast

The last piece of undeveloped coastline in Southern California extending from Coal Oil Point to Gaviota State Beach. The Land Trust for Santa Barbara County is working on purchasing conservation easements from land owners. Visit the web site of The Gaviota Coast Conservancy at:

Santa Cruz Island

San Marcos Foothills

377 acres of grassland and oaks at the base of San Marcos Pass threatened with high end residences.

Carpinteria Salt Marsh

One of the very few remaining California coastal wetlands not lost to development. The marsh has been saved and is gradually being restored to a more natural state by a partnership of groups including the City of Carpinteria and the Land Trust For Santa Barbara County.

Marin County Farmlands

Under constant pressure from development the farmlands of Marin are being protected piece by piece by the Marin Agricultural Land Trust -MALT.
