Michael Enriquez

“The Landscape” is a term often used simply to define an outdoors scene. While this is correct, the landscape means more to me. It is a term which includes the urban, rural and wild landscapes. It speaks of the formation of the earth. It tells of the health of our environment, and how we have interacted and cared for our environs. It is not only about the mountains, trees, rocks, oceans, etc., but also the people and animals who live in, have shaped, and are a part of the landscape.
In my paintings, I strive for not only a depiction of the landscape, but an interpretation of the sense and feeling of the elements. The landscape is a gift to be pondered, cherished and celebrated.
