WILLIAM B. DEWEY

Much of my photography is driven by the lost landscapes of my youth. Growing up in coastal Southern California, I have witnessed the loss of places I cherished and that were essential to the fabric of this special place on earth. In response to that I seek out places that may or may not be in jeopardy to record and celebrate my homeland.
In flying, I have opened new perspectives on the familiar and am able to discover relationships that are not apparent from the ground. It is during these moments of aerial photography when I experience the rapture of seeing anew.

Born in Los Angeles, California, January 23, 1949.
Education: University of California, Davis; Brooks Institute of Photography; Rochester Institute of Technology
