To be fueled by inspiration, fired by excitement and driven by positive thoughts and good will, that’s key. Standing under the big sky and mountains on a clear day, intently focused on my subject, grabbing color, building lights and darks, translating feelingthis epitomizes painting for life. In my Adult Education landscape painting class, I’m lucky to have women role models in their eighties and nineties. These women are “painting for life.” Like our patriarch Ray Strong, they embody who I hope to become in my eighties, nineties, or even one hundreds possessing a positive attitude, a great heart and the “art spirit.” Painting is a prayer in action. I’m deeply grateful to Oak Group friends who have inspired me as humanitarians and truly great painters. We are united in the act of raising awareness and preserving our most precious resource.
